Create Interactive Syllabi and Story-Themed Interactive Assignments with Google Slides and PowerPoint

Session 3: 1:40 PM-2:50 PM, Computer Lab 207

Abstract

Which would you rather do, read a PDF syllabus or interact with one? Would you rather complete an online quiz in Moodle, or interact with a story-themed slide show? Would you rather read a set of grammar rules or watch a zombie-filled grammar video? If you’re an online instructor, you know how your students would answer. Kick your web-enhanced or online instruction up a notch by creating an interactive syllabus, quizzes, and video lectures with Google Slides and PowerPoint. In this session, you’ll see how one award-winning online instructor uses these tools to foster engagement in her online course. These tools are also great for disseminating agency information and providing professional growth. You’ll create either a simple online Google Slides assignment and “attach” it to a quiz, or create an interactive syllabus using PowerPoint features from simple to advanced.
