Back to Basics Tutorials: Student Readiness for Online Learning

Session 3: 10:30–12:00 PM, Zoom Room 1

Abstract

Most student online readiness tutorials assume a high level of English and technology proficiency that is unrealistic to expect for many adult learners. We are developing open educational online training and assessment materials better suited for the older adult/limited literacy/limited learner population. These materials will include multiple modalities, including accessible basic print and digital resources with clear visuals to assist with learner comprehension. Presenters will show examples of print and digital materials used to prepare learners for online learning in a very effective way. Attendees will be introduced to video and graphic creation tools, as well as tips for accessibility and production.
