Using North Star Digital Assessment and Curriculum

Session 3: 10:30–12:00 PM, Zoom Room 9

Abstract

We will share how our institution is integrating the Northstar Digital Literacy sources in a variety of ways. In our CTE department, Assessments are used as a pre-test for determining if students have sufficient knowledge of computers to succeed in a 4 month distance learning online Office Assistant class that covers Google Apps, MSOffice 2016/365 Word, Excel, PowerPoint. In our ESL Department, Curriculum is used in F2F courses and as a main source in the Technology Workshop we created for adult students. This presentation is for anyone who wants to learn more about the basics of Digital Literacy and how this resource can be used across departments to enhance instruction, provide staff with detailed data, build students’ skills, and address the needs of non-digital natives. We hope attendees will leave with questions and the desire to explore and pursue Northstar Digital Literacy both for their benefit and the benefit of their students.
