Using Microsoft Power Automate (MPA) in Adult Schools
Session 2: 8:30–10:00 AM, Zoom Room 9
Abstract
In this session, attendees will be introduced to Microsoft’s software, Power Automate, which is included in all Office 365 subscriptions. While this software is not really known or used by people outside of the tech business world, it has a wide array of applications within the world of Adult Education. By connecting different programs within the Microsoft Office Suite, Power Automate enables busy administrators, support staff, and teachers access to true automation on several different levels. Power Automate offers automated, instant, and ‘manual’ automated processes that can relieve burdens in all areas of the school. Corona-Norco Adult School has started to implement this software in different areas of our school: to assist in communication, move important forms online, and generally support our transition to virtual classrooms and offices. This session will specifically look at automated communication between administrators, support staff, teachers, and students. We will also briefly look at how Power Automate might be used in student registration, maintaining student attendance, and processing new student ‘leads.’
