ENGAGE, ENHANCE, and EXTEND the Learning with the Triple E Framework!

Session 2: 1:00pm-2:00pm (Friday March 01, 2024)

 

Description

In this session we will introduce the Triple E Framework and emphasize the shift from using technology to occupy or entertain learners to focus on accomplishing learner goals. We will give examples of ways to include the Triple E elements in lesson plans. Finally we will include an example lesson plan and show how to add activities to engage, enhance and extend learning. Participants will be involved in the discussion.

Debbie Jensen

OTAN

Debbie Jensen worked as an instructor for over 30 years in Adults with Disabilities and ABE and assisted with technology integration at her school. She currently works for OTAN (Outreach and Technical Assistance Network) creating online resources, courses, articles, presentations, and workshops. She has presented on Accessibility, CK-12, Google and Google Classroom, the Triple E Framework, and Teaching with Technology at multiple conferences including TDLS, COABE, CASAS SI, CCAE, CUE and CAEP.

Susan Coulter

OTAN

Susan is one of OTAN's Subject Matter Experts and has worked for OTAN for more than ten years. She writes Web-Based News articles, and Teaching with Technology activities, and regularly presents at three or four conferences each year. She is currently a coach for OTAN's Digital Leadership Academy (DLAC).

Alisa Takeuchi

OTAN, Garden Grove Adult Education and Tamalpais Adult School

Alisa Takeuchi has been in AE for over 23 years. Her broad range of experience spans from ESL instructor, technology integrator, mentor teacher, and most recently, a CTE instructor. She has had the privilege of being a Subject Matter Expert in technology integration for the California state leadership project OTAN-Outreach and Technical Assistance Network for the past 7 years. Teaching and sharing what she knows with others is her passion and remains at the forefront of her priorities.

Susan Gaer

Susan Gaer is a technology geek and an educational consultant working for both OTAN as a Subject Matter Expert and for World Education, as an advisor and consultant. She loves empowering both teachers and students in the use of technological tools. She is a CATESOL Past President and an adjunct professor for the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul.
