ScreenPal (previously Screencast-O-Matic) is a simple yet powerful tool that has multiple uses including screen recorder, video editor, creating storyboards and scripts, capturing and annotating screenshots, and creating video quizzes. This tool would be beneficial to adult educators as they design lessons. ScreenPal’s embedded quizzes and polls allow curriculum and lesson designers to create video lessons with frequent knowledge checks, or short bytes of video lessons followed by a quiz.

HyFlex: Guidance and Discussion on Implementing Innovative Instruction

The Hybrid-Flexible (HyFlex) model gives students agency to choose how they engage in learning: in-person, synchronously online, or asynchronously online. This panel discussion begins with a brief intro to HyFlex. Then, expert teachers and PD leaders share insights and answer questions about HyFlex in action. Participants learn about the Guide for Design and Implementation of Hybrid–Flexible (HyFlex) Models in Adult Education and videos showing teachers' set-up and implementation of the model.

Transforming and Aligning EL Distance Learning

Cyber High is one of the originators of asynchronous online coursework, circa 1998; although our roots date to 1978 via the Pass Program put forth in the service of California’s Migrant student population (whom we still serve in large percentage today). It offers 79 online courses, 7 in Spanish, 47 courses are appropriate for A-G, and one CTE course.

HyFlex: Guidance and Discussion on Implementing Innovative Instruction

The EEE framework has taught us that technology in instruction should be a means rather than an end. We will also discuss strategies, challenges, and questions about AI.
Cyber High, Changing Lives One Future at a Time

Cyber High is one of the originators of asynchronous online coursework, circa 1998; although our roots date to 1978 via the Pass Program put forth in the service of California’s Migrant student population (whom we still serve in large percentage today). It is owned and operated by one of the largest county offices of education in California, the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools. It offers 79 online courses, 7 in Spanish, 47 courses are appropriate for A-G, and one CTE course.
California Adult Ed Technology and Distance Learning – A Look at the Data

The Technology and Distance Learning for California Adult Education report provides an overview of distance learning in WIOA-funded adult schools and noncredit community college programs. We present preliminary findings from the 2022-2023 report and invite participants to discuss online and blended learning as well as the impact of technology adoption in the delivery of program offerings as we look at the data. We also will reflect on the challenges and opportunities in a post-pandemic world.
EL Civics on Canvas

The EL Civics shared courses have moved to Canvas! These courses are geared for High Intermediate through Advanced ESL students to be used in class as whole group instruction, blended for both in class and at home instruction, or as a distance learning component.
