Joining OTAN Digital Leadership Academy & Developing Community Partnerships

Description

DLAC participation: school/participant commitments, pre-selected dates, TDLS participation, no school too small to participate, Proteus' technology plan and other school examples, type of staff that participate, extent of tech support, coach support and expertise, other training in communication, leadership, and management skills, coping with stress and working with others, travel, build relationships with other school staff, learn from other school projects, have fun while learning, how to apply for DLAC. Community partnerships: Managing multiple funding streams, foundations, workforce investment boards, city, county, other non-profits housing, immigration services, food pantries, shelters, utility companies, get to know your local politicians, support staff running for office, joining other organizations or participating on other boards or special projects. Give examples of collaborations. Activities: questionnaire, 3-4 peer group discussion, entire group discussion.

My name is Maria Elena Mendoza, I am the Proteus/WMSE Admissions and testing coordinator and also the data person for ASAP and TE. I have been serving our customers for almost 20 years. I enjoy my work helping to improve the lives of our students and community. Besides work, I volunteer with another nonprofit organization. I am a breast cancer survivor and feel blessed with every day I get to live. I won’t change what I do because it is my passion and the outcome of what I do fulfills my heart.
