The Folsom Prison Blues Remix: Using Canvas to Unlock Potential Behind Bars
Session 2: 1:00pm-2:00pm (Friday March 06, 2026)
Description
Greystone Adult School is constantly working to integrate technology into our educational programs to enhance student learning and pathways to rehabilitation. Through the use of online programs, Smart Boards, and laptops we have seen the positive impact technology can have on our students of all levels. Folsom State Prison's college programs currently utilize CANVAS and it has demonstrated the power CANVAS can have in helping students to achieve their educational goals and improve the technology skills needed in today's society. Greystone is currently working on expanding the use of CANVAS into our HSD/GED/ABE programs to support all levels of learners. As is normal in CDCR, we have experience roadblocks that have caused us to pivot and make adjustments to continue on our pathway to total CANVAS integration. In this presentation, you will get an understanding of what technology looks like inside Folsom Prison and how we are working around these roadblocks to get CANVAS to all learners.
