This empowering session will equip attendees with accessible technology tools and strategies that meet the diverse needs of all learners. This hands-on presentation will explore free and low-cost tools including text-to-speech software, real-time translation apps, assistive technology features built into everyday devices, and platforms that adapt to different reading levels. We'll demonstrate how to use these tools effectively in your classroom and share Universal Design for Learning principles that make instruction accessible from the start. Participants will leave with a toolkit of resources, strategies for evaluating new technology for accessibility, and the confidence to lead their schools in creating more inclusive learning environments. This session includes interactive demonstrations, real classroom examples, and actionable takeaways tht can be implemented immediately. Lynne Ruvalcaba
OTAN
Lynne Ruvalcaba is a SME for OTAN and the Administrator of Educational Technology for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Her background includes roles in finance and business administration as well as fifteen years of K-12 school administrator. Currently, Dr. Ruvalcaba works to expand the use of technology for more than 36,000 adult learners incarcerated in California.
