Correctional education faces barriers like outdated materials, limited connectivity, and siloed systems—creating inequities in learning access. Learn how secure digital platforms can advance equity by connecting educators, learners, and administrators, ensuring standards-aligned learning for adults—from English acquisition and basic skills to career training and high school completion. In Sacramento County, EGACE built secure digital ecosystems—combining LMS, courseware, and instructor content—inside and outside classrooms to foster continuity and improve data visibility. This approach empowers learners to own their education, achieve milestones, and demonstrates technology’s power to break barriers and strengthen communities. Participants gain insights on implementing secure ecosystems, blending online/offline learning, and using analytics to support engagement and progress. Includes templates, workflows, lessons learned, and discussion on scaling innovations across adult education.

Jerry is a digital learning strategist and doctoral candidate in Educational Technology with deep expertise in instructional design, adult learning, and digital inclusion. His work centers on designing equitable, human-centered systems that support adult learners in building digital skills for personal, academic, and workforce success. He is a regular presenter at local, state, and national conferences with a focus on Digital Inclusion, Distance & Digital Learning, and Technology Integration.
