Building Community: Working Together in Education with SharePoint

Session 6: 10:30am-12:00pm (Saturday March 07, 2026)

Description

This follow-along workshop is designed for educators and administrators who are new to SharePoint and want a clear, supportive introduction to using it in real educational settings. Through a guided, step-by-step live demo, participants will follow along as a basic SharePoint team site is created and customized for an educational program. The workshop demonstrates practical uses such as organizing shared documents, posting announcements, managing shared calendars, and co-editing files to support teamwork and transparency. Participants will also learn how to personalize pages to meet the needs of different programs, departments, or instructional teams. Grounded in Microsoft’s Education Transformation Framework and research on digital collaboration, the workshop highlights how intentional use of SharePoint can build trust, increase participation, and foster a sense of digital belonging within educational communities.
