Putting English to Work 1-3 (PETW) and The Write Stuff (TWS) in Canvas

Description

The complete PETW series includes video episodes, grammar and life skill exercises, and unit tests. Many exercises include H5P interactivity accessible on all devices. This session will walk you through the course and share the various interactive learning activities. TWS is an online writing course designed for Adult Education English Language Learners at Intermediate High and Advanced levels to improve their writing skills. • to transition to community college to pursue their academic or career goals. • to enter community college at a higher ESL level, so that they spend less time in non-transferable credit classes prior to pursuing their careers. • to enter a career training program Both presentations meant to orient teachers and/or administrators to the course and how it could be incorporated into their ESL curriculum. This course is available through OTAN at no cost to California adult education agencies.

Francisca Wentworth

OTAN

Francisca has taught all levels of ESL, was the Instructional Technology Coordinator at Jefferson Adult School and Director of Jefferson Adult School, and mentor in OTAN professional-development projects-TIMAC/OTAC/DLAC. She has presented at conferences and online. In 2010, she was hired by OTAN to create an Advanced ESL Online course in Moodle. Then in 2012, she created “The Write Stuff” which was also made available to Adult Education agencies in California through OTAN.
