The Gemini Storybook feature is more than just a tool for children—it is a sophisticated resource for adult educators seeking to enhance comprehension and engagement. This 60-minute, hands-on demonstration will walk you through the end-to-end process of leveraging AI to create powerful narrative-based learning materials. We will cover: crafting effective prompts to control theme, art style, and language level; using file uploads to create stories based on real documents, case studies, or lesson outlines; and integrating multimedia through the read-aloud narration feature. Crucially, we will explore advanced prompting techniques to instantly generate supplementary educational materials directly from your finished storybook, turning a single narrative into a complete, ready-to-use learning module for your adult students. This session is designed for educators in Adult Basic Education, ESOL, professional development, and technical training.

Susan Gaer

OTAN

Susan Gaer is a former President of CATESOL and worked as an ESL teacher since 1980. She is an avid user of technology and works with the Technical Assistance Center (OTAN), as a subject matter expert. Ms Gaer is an EL Specialist with projects completed in both Vietnam and Indonesia. Ms Gaer is a frequent presenter at local, state, national, and international conferences on using the latest technology with adult learners from the literacy level through transition to college.
