Oh, What a Gem You Are: Exploring Google Gemini for Educators

Session 1: 10:30am-12:00pm (Friday March 06, 2026)

Description

Artificial intelligence tools like Google Gemini are often discussed in terms of efficiency, but this session focuses on understanding the tool itself. Educators will explore Gemini through live demonstrations that show how its features work with text, images, and other inputs. The session emphasizes what Gemini can do today, how its multimodal capabilities function, and where its current limitations exist. Attention is given to appropriate use alongside human judgment, helping participants make informed decisions about when and how the tool might fit into their own instructional or support contexts. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of Gemini’s capabilities and realistic expectations for its use.
