Unite, Inspire, Achieve!! Create an Adult Education Virtual School Fair!!

Description

In this session, presenters will share a virtual school fair created by students and staff of the Adult Education Virtual Academy (AEVA), which showcases work done by students, the digital skills that they have acquired, programs available at AEVA, and staff presentations. The presenters will share a brief presentation on how the virtual fair was created including all templates and forms used. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the virtual fair on their own and ask any questions they might have about replicating it for their own district/school/programs.

Josh Eick

LAUSD - DACE

Josh Eick received a Masters in TESOL from the University of Hamline in 2022. He has over 27 years of teaching experience in adult education including ESL, IET, and computer technology. He has developed online LMS course curricula and created a variety of PD content for DACE. He is the recipient of the Excellence In Teaching Award (CCAE - 2020), the CALCO Excellence In Teaching Award (CCAE - 2019), and the Platinum Apple Award For Excellence In Teaching (UTLA - 2006).

Prishay Wilson

LAUSD - DACE

Prishay Wilson has been with LAUSD for 25 years. She was a Classified employee (Clerical) and in April 2022 she decided to teach part-time. In August 2022 she became a full-time CTE Instructor teaching Computers during the day and STEP (Orientation) in the evening. She is the recipient of of Classified Employee of the Year Award (CCAE 2021-2022).

Bernadine Gonzalez

LAUSD - DACE

Bernadine Sandoval Gonzalez is the Principal of the Adult Education Virtual Academy (AEVA), part of Los Angeles Unified School District’s, Division of Adult and Career Education (DACE). A 34-year veteran of DACE, with more than 25 years of administrative experience. UCLA, Master of Arts, Urban Planning; Social Policy and Social Programs. UCLA, Bachelor of Arts, Sociology. ACSA’s Principal of the Year award 2012.
