Election and Voting Resources for Adult Learners

Description
Participants identify the latest resources in the form of pdfs, videos, online courses, with emphasis on the electoral process, voting rights, and voting responsibilities. This presentation is an extension of the COABE Voter Resources Guide https://coabe.org/voter-resources/ with an emphasis on student leadership and participation in advocacy and political campaigns. Students will learn about the electoral process for local, state, and federal political offices, the evolution of and challenges to voting rights, and voting responsibilities through informed choice and participation in election-day jobs/volunteer opportunities.

Jennifer Gagliardi has been teaching ESL/Citizenship for 20+ years. She presents on the topics of Citizenship and Technology at Adult Education conferences for Outreach and Technical Assistance Network (OTAN). She moderates the Civics Education and Citizenship forum on LINCS.ed.gov.
