Empower Students with AI Literacy: Civics and Career-Related Projects
Session 6: 10:30am-12:00pm (Saturday March 08, 2025)
Description
This session will provide a brief overview of project-based learning and its benefits for adult learners. Participants will learn how to integrate student projects for civics and college and career readiness with examples and hands-on. The sample projects use various free artificial intelligence tools, which give adult learners experience in using the tools for diverse tasks related to their lives and roles as students, employees, community members, and parents, thus using AI for practical and positive uses, but also with a focus on helping students gain AI literacy, which includes critical thought and verification of output. Participants will walk away with ideas for projects they can use in their classes, which are accompanied by online lesson plans teachers can use on a “grab-and-go” basis or modify for their learners.
