Reimagining Student Intake: Digitizing Processes to Improve Access

Description

This session explores how digitizing and automating traditional intake processes can enhance efficiency, enable anytime-anywhere enrollments, and create engaging orientation experiences. Participants will learn about digital tools for various stages of intake, including automating routine tasks to free staff for personalized student support. We’ll also discuss how digitized intake can immediately engage new students after submitting an online form, supporting retention by reaching learners when they are engaged. The session includes interactive discussions, tool demonstrations, and case studies of successful implementations.

Joey Lehrman is Director of Community Learning Partners and Project Manager for ISTE's SkillRise, working to create accessible educational pathways for adult learners through technology. He developed Louisiana's first fully online adult education program and now leads workshops, courses, and keynotes on AI tools for educators. Joey is a Google Certified Educator and Project Manager, collaborating with ISTE, Google, COABE, TCALL, and state education departments.
