NEDP: Online Pathway to a High School Credential

Description
The National External Diploma Program (NEDP) is an applied performance assessment pathway for adults and out-of-school youth to earn a high school diploma which can be offered as a total remote program. The NEDP evaluates the reading, writing, and workforce readiness skills of participants in life and work contexts. The NEDP has been cited by the U.S. Department of Education funded “Digital Resilience in the American Workforce: Findings from a National Landscape Scan on Adult Digital Literacy Instruction” (DRAW) project as an innovative program addressing digital literacy skills. Margaret Kirkpatrick is an adult educator with experience as an ESL teacher, adult school principal, and past Colorado Director of Adult Education. She presently serves as CASAS NEDP Director and as a CASAS National Trainer.
