Educators Drs. Maslow and Bloom Arrested in Huge Bar Fight. News at 11!

Session 7: 1:15pm-2:15pm (Saturday March 08, 2025)

Description

The online world challenges the thinking and theories we have grown up understanding and applying. How does the modern learning online experience mesh with the theories of Gardner and his Multiple Intelligences, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, and Briggs and Myers’s Type Indicators? Where do we need to adjust in fulfilling the needs of Andragogy and Heutagogy? This session will investigate the theories asking which elements are supported by the online environment and which are not. Going further, we will explore possible techniques to meet the needs of the modern student. Come with your ideas and see who wins the brawl. Driving Questions: Why does the online learning environment work for some but not others? Why does the traditional learning environment work for some but not others? Where has our profession excelled in leveraging online learning? Where are the opportunities for growth? What are the drawbacks?
