AI for Ease and Efficiency for Educators, Administrators, and Staff

Description
This “You Do It Too” presentation will explore the use of Artificial Intelligence tools and applications by educators in all roles. Attendees will gain insights on leveraging AI to more quickly make engaging learning experiences for students, make many writing tasks less onerous, prepare for job interviews, analyze data, and other typical educator duties. Participants will be guided through the activities in this hands-on learning experience. Activities for educators, administrators and staff to do will include but are not limited to: 1. Using ChatGPT, Pi and Meta AI to practice for job interviews 2. Using Canva Dream Lab to create images for illustrations 3. Using ChatGPT to write parts of your evaluation/observation documentation 4. Using ChatGPT to get help with Excel 5. Using AI tools for analyzing Spreadsheet data 6. Giving Teachers quick suggestions for lesson activities 7. Composing letters and/or scripts for marketing or other videos

Barry Bakin
North Valley Occupational Center, L.A. Unified Adult Education & SCOE
Barry Bakin has been an educator with the Division of Adult and Career Education of the Los Angeles Unified School District since 1987. He was an ESL teacher for most of that time. Now, he is also an Instructional Technology Teacher Advisor working with teachers learning technology integration skills to benefit their instruction and by extension that of their students. Barry is also a Subject Matter Expert for OTAN. Barry has a master’s degree in Instructional Technology. (500 characters)
