Teaching Hyflex

Session 2: 1:00pm-2:00pm (Friday March 07, 2025)

Description

This presentation will introduce the HyFlex (Hybrid-Flexible) learning model, which allows students to choose between attending class in-person, remotely, or through a combination of both. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of what HyFlex is, its benefits, and the challenges it presents for both instructors and learners. We will explore effective teaching strategies for implementing HyFlex, including how to balance synchronous and asynchronous elements, foster student engagement, and adapt traditional teaching methods for a flexible format. Additionally, the presentation will highlight various online tools and resources that support the transition from a traditional face-to-face class to a HyFlex environment. By the end, participants will have practical guidance and tools to integrate HyFlex into their own teaching, ensuring a more inclusive and accessible learning experience.
