Drones for CTE and STEM

Description

Overview and purpose of the courses: sUAS Ground School Small Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Operations Intro to Mission Planning (2 Tracks) Participants will review the current FAA guidelines as they apply to use of drones for commercial purposes. Flight demos on multiple drone models for education will be conducted, with participants being given the opportunity to operate a drone. The demonstration will also include information on Drone Soccer competitions that build on student's knowledge of drones by teaching them to build, program, tune and repair drones.

Sweetwater Union High School District

Tonie is experienced operating and training for UAS operation for commercial operations and public safety. Her goal is to create positive experiences surrounding the use of drone technology for businesses and the general public, while contributing to professional development and responsible use of drones in the community. As a result, she has curated effective curriculum elements to offer to CTE students at Sweetwater Union High School District Adult Schools interested in drone related fields.
