Digital Well-Being: Tech Balance for a Better Life

Description

Support students' digital well-being with evidence-based lessons designed to help them build agency, reduce anxious thoughts, and increase mindfulness related to their tech habits. Students are expressing an increased need to address their digital well-being. This session provides attendees of all levels with hands-on experiences to participants illustrating four activities centered on providing digital well-being strategies for students. Participants will work in small groups to examine their values, understand the tricks of app design, address irrational thinking traps, and address negative habits using strategies to support student's social-emotional well-being. Additionally, participants attending this session will also receive the benefit of collaborating and sharing with fellow attendees in a way that enhances their own social well-being.

Leticia Citizen

Our Voice Alliance (OVA) Cohort 3

Leticia Citizen, a member of Our Voice Alliance (OVA) Cohort 3, is a Samsung Education Coach passionate about technology-enhanced teaching, primary sources, and global connections to help augment student learning, modernizing traditional classroom methods. Her 23 educator years experience includes teaching kindergarten, first, and fifth grade in self-contained classrooms. While a tech coach, she taught digital citizenship to each TK-5 class.
