Join one of our in-person afternoon Bootcamps to increase your know-how in Canvas, Google, or Microsoft. (Note: Attendance in each session is limited to 30 participants. Register for one of the Bootcamps on our TDLS registration form.)

Canvas

Canvas is an online learning management system for teachers to create and present online learning materials and assess student learning. Attend this hands-on, blended learning Bootcamp to set up and construct a module in Canvas. You will learn to do the following:

  • Add a course card
  • Create your profile
  • Select basic settings
  • Make an inviting home page and/or upload CDLC template

Create a module with the following:

  • An opening page with an image and embedded video
  • A discussion
  • Quizzes & New Quizzes
  • Embedded file for download
  • An external link
  • Text header
  • Adaptive release
  • Accessibility checker

Advancing through Google

This OTAN Bootcamp is designed for those that want to learn more about Google Workspace and for those that want information on becoming a Google Certified Educator or Trainer. 

This Bootcamp will focus on mastering the integration of core Google Workspace apps into  instruction. Using Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and other Google apps, topics will include how to design interactive learning materials, personalizing learning for students, optimizing current materials, organizing and sharing, and account safety practices.

This session is geared to advancing and honing Google skills as well as preparing those that wish to take the Google Certified Educator and Trainer exams. Resources, study guides, and practice sites like Google’s Skillshop, will also be shared.

Working with Microsoft Office for Instruction and Certification

Come join our Microsoft Office Bootcamp to learn key skills and concepts to incorporate into classroom projects, teaching, and office productivity. Working in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, gain insights and skills to share with learners and expose learners to Microsoft accessibility tools as well as Microsoft certification possibilities.

This workshop is intended for participants with a basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Please bring a device with the latest or recent desktop version of Microsoft Office. (You are welcome to join this workshop if you only have access to the web version of Microsoft Office, but you may not be able to access all of the features introduced during the session.)
