Participants identify the latest resources in the form of pdfs, videos, online courses, with emphasis on the electoral process, voting rights, and voting responsibilities. By adapting and incorporating these resources, participants can implement learning strategies appropriate for ESL, EL/Civics, HiSet, ABE, IELCE/IET, or Citizenship classrooms, political campaigns, and voting booths.

Schoolwide Northstar Digital Literacy Integration for Staff & Students

In order to address the digital literacy gap, Torrance Adult School partnered with OTAN to bring the Northstar Digital Literacy program to our school. We started by building staff capacity through professional development sessions using the Northstar lessons and assessments. In Fall 2023, we are focused on assessing and building students’ digital literacy skills by incorporating a digital skills screener in some classes and incorporating the Northstar curriculum in others.
